Vietnam is continuing to invest in critical care infrastructure and respiratory medicine, creating sustained demand for modern ventilator technologies across hospitals, intensive care units and home healthcare settings.

Although no standalone valuation has been published for Vietnam's ventilator market, industry analysis estimates the sector is currently worth US$38–50 million in 2025 and is projected to reach US$55–72 million by 2030.

Ventilators remain one of the most important life-support technologies used to treat patients with respiratory failure caused by conditions including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pneumonia, asthma, neurological disorders, trauma and post-operative complications. Demand also continues to grow for non-invasive ventilation used in emergency medicine, sleep medicine and long-term homecare.

The market includes:

  • Intensive care ventilators
  • Portable and transport ventilators
  • Homecare ventilators
  • Neonatal and paediatric ventilators
  • Non-invasive ventilation (NIV) systems
  • High-flow respiratory support systems
  • Ventilator monitoring software
  • Accessories, circuits and humidification systems

Several structural trends are driving market growth across Vietnam:

  • Rising incidence of COPD, asthma and other chronic respiratory diseases.
  • Increasing investment in intensive care and emergency medicine.
  • Expansion of provincial hospitals and critical care capacity.
  • Growing adoption of non-invasive ventilation.
  • Rising demand for home respiratory support.
  • Continued modernisation of hospital equipment.
  • Integration of digital monitoring and remote respiratory management.

Vietnam's broader respiratory device market continues to strengthen. According to IMARC Group, the country's Anesthesia and Respiratory Devices Market reached US$265.7 million in 2025 and is forecast to grow to US$432.0 million by 2034. The report identifies ventilators as one of the principal respiratory device categories and attributes growth to increasing respiratory disease prevalence, healthcare infrastructure investment and wider adoption of advanced respiratory technologies.

The report also highlights the growing burden of respiratory disease across Vietnam. COPD remains one of the country's leading causes of illness and death, while asthma affects an estimated four million people nationwide, with particularly high prevalence among children in major urban centres. Increasing urbanisation, air pollution and population ageing continue to support long-term demand for respiratory support technologies.

Demand is also shifting beyond hospitals. IMARC Group estimates Vietnam's Home Medical Equipment Market reached US$178.4 million in 2025 and is expected to reach US$286.6 million by 2034. Homecare ventilators, portable respiratory support systems and connected monitoring devices are becoming increasingly important as healthcare providers seek to manage chronic respiratory conditions outside traditional hospital settings.

Globally, the ventilator industry continues to evolve through advances in portability, automation and digital connectivity. IMARC Group estimates the Global Mechanical Ventilators Market reached US$5.9 billion in 2025 and is forecast to reach US$8.3 billion by 2034. Manufacturers are increasingly introducing compact ventilators with touchscreen interfaces, automated ventilation modes, integrated decision-support algorithms and cloud-enabled remote monitoring to improve clinical outcomes while reducing clinician workload.

Artificial intelligence is expected to play an increasingly important role in respiratory care. AI-assisted ventilator management can optimise ventilation settings, predict patient deterioration and support personalised respiratory therapy. Combined with advances in sensor technology and digital intensive care systems, these innovations are helping hospitals improve patient safety and operational efficiency.

Leading manufacturers including Hamilton MedicalDrägerMedtronicGE HealthCareMindrayPhilipsGetinge (Maquet)Vyaire MedicalResMed and Air Liquide Medical Systems continue to expand their portfolios of intensive care, transport and home ventilation solutions, introducing increasingly connected and intelligent respiratory support platforms.

As Vietnam continues to strengthen its healthcare infrastructure and expand critical care capacity, ventilators will remain a cornerstone of respiratory medicine. For manufacturers of intensive care equipment, respiratory monitoring systems, hospital technologies and home ventilation solutions, Vietnam represents one of Southeast Asia's most promising long-term growth markets.
