Vietnam is witnessing growing demand for sleep apnea diagnosis and treatment technologies as awareness of sleep disorders increases, healthcare providers expand respiratory care services and more patients seek home-based monitoring and therapy.

While no dedicated valuation has yet been published for Vietnam's sleep apnea devices market, industry analysis estimates the sector is currently worth US$18–25 million in 2025 and is projected to reach US$28–38 million by 2030.

Sleep apnea is a chronic condition in which breathing repeatedly stops and starts during sleep, increasing the risk of hypertension, stroke, heart disease, diabetes and excessive daytime fatigue. Effective diagnosis and treatment rely on a combination of diagnostic equipment and therapeutic devices.

The market includes:

  • CPAP, BiPAP and APAP systems
  • Home sleep testing (HST) devices
  • Polysomnography systems
  • Pulse oximetry and sleep monitoring equipment
  • Oral appliances
  • Connected PAP devices
  • Smart masks and accessories
  • Digital sleep management platforms

Several structural trends are driving market growth across Vietnam:

  • Increasing awareness of obstructive sleep apnea among clinicians and the public.
  • Rising prevalence of obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
  • Growth in ageing populations at greater risk of sleep-disordered breathing.
  • Expansion of home healthcare and remote patient monitoring.
  • Greater availability of portable sleep diagnostic technologies.
  • Increasing adoption of digital and connected respiratory devices.
  • Investment in specialist respiratory and sleep medicine services.

Vietnam's broader respiratory care market is expanding steadily. According to IMARC Group, the country's anesthesia and respiratory devices market reached US$265.7 million in 2025 and is forecast to grow to US$432.0 million by 2034, supported by increasing respiratory disease prevalence, expanding critical care services and ongoing investment in healthcare infrastructure.

Demand for home-based respiratory technologies is also increasing. IMARC Group estimates Vietnam's home medical equipment market reached US$178.4 million in 2025 and is expected to grow to US$286.6 million by 2034. As more chronic disease management shifts into patients' homes, CPAP devices and portable sleep monitoring systems are becoming increasingly important components of long-term care.

Wearable technology is creating new opportunities for earlier diagnosis. Vietnam's wearable medical devices market reached US$158.4 million in 2025 and is projected to reach US$650.9 million by 2034, driven by rapid adoption of connected health technologies. Modern smartwatches and wearable sensors are increasingly capable of detecting breathing disturbances, oxygen saturation and sleep quality, helping identify individuals who may require formal sleep assessment.

Globally, sleep apnea technologies continue to evolve. IMARC Group estimates the global sleep apnea devices market reached US$9.0 billion in 2025 and is forecast to grow to US$14.5 billion by 2034. Therapeutic devices—including CPAP and BiPAP systems—account for more than three-quarters of the market, reflecting their central role in managing obstructive sleep apnea.

Technology is reshaping sleep medicine. Artificial intelligence is improving sleep analysis, while cloud-connected PAP devices enable clinicians to remotely monitor treatment adherence and adjust therapy settings. Home sleep testing is becoming more accurate and accessible through portable sensors, wearable devices and smartphone-connected diagnostic systems, helping reduce reliance on overnight laboratory sleep studies. Research is also advancing AI-based ECG and audio analysis for home screening, offering the potential for earlier and lower-cost diagnosis.

Leading manufacturers including ResMedPhilipsFisher & Paykel HealthcareBMC MedicalLöwenstein MedicalCompumedicsNatus MedicalSomnoMedDrive DeVilbiss Healthcare and Nyxoah continue to introduce more compact, connected and patient-friendly sleep apnea solutions. Strong global demand for these technologies continues to support investment and innovation across the sector.

As Vietnam strengthens respiratory care services, expands home healthcare and embraces digital health technologies, sleep apnea diagnosis and treatment are expected to become increasingly important components of chronic disease management. For manufacturers of sleep diagnostics, PAP therapy systems, wearable monitoring devices and AI-enabled respiratory technologies, Vietnam represents an attractive long-term growth opportunity within Southeast Asia.
