Vietnam's orthopedic devices sector is entering a period of sustained expansion as demographic change, healthcare investment and advances in surgical technology drive demand for modern musculoskeletal treatments. With an ageing population, increasing rates of degenerative joint disease and a growing number of trauma cases, orthopedic surgery is becoming one of the country's fastest-growing medical specialties.

Although there is no dedicated IMARC valuation for Vietnam's orthopedic devices market, industry analysis estimates the sector is currently worth US$460–500 million in 2025 and is projected to reach US$800–900 million by 2030.

The orthopedic devices market encompasses a broad range of products used to restore mobility, repair fractures and replace damaged joints. It includes:

Private hospital expansion, greater surgical capacity and increasing investment in modern orthopedic services are expected to underpin this rapid development.

Technology is transforming orthopedic care worldwide. Robotic-assisted surgery is enabling more accurate implant positioning and personalised surgical planning, while navigation systems, 3D imaging and patient-specific implants are improving clinical outcomes. Additive manufacturing (3D printing) is also allowing customised implants and complex orthopedic components to be produced more efficiently. Artificial intelligence is increasingly being used to support surgical planning, predict patient outcomes and improve implant selection, while explainable AI is helping clinicians understand and trust AI-assisted recommendations in orthopedic practice.

Sports medicine is another important growth area. As participation in recreational and professional sport increases, demand for minimally invasive arthroscopy procedures, ligament reconstruction and biologic therapies continues to grow.
